DIY Skin Saver: The Aspirin Mask
Dissolving aspirin tablets in water creates a rough grainy texture which helps to exfoliate dead skin. It should always be used on skin that is not irritated or sensitive to avoid aggravating it further
Best for all skin types, especially normal to oily and combination skin, acne-prone and clogged skin.
Salicylic Acid from Aspirin Mask
A word of caution, you never want to over-exfoliate your skin with the aspirin mask since it can cause broken veins and over-dry the skin. You always want to apply a sunscreen with any sun exposure after using the mask.
The Method:
Apply the paste with your finger on cleansed skin. Focus more on the t-zone and around the nose where more pores and blackheads are prone to forming.
Gently scrub the area for about 2-3 minutes without too much effort, the aspirin will do all the work.
Wash off the aspirin mask with lukewarm water then splash cold water to close up your pores.
Follow up with a gentle toner and hydrating moisturizer for smooth supple skin.
